Job Description

Position: Part Time or Full-Time, HospitalityAmbassador

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt

Supervisor:

Overview: The primary function of the full-time Hospitality Ambassador position is to promote the sale of Eleven Eleven wine, brand merchandise and wine club memberships, while providing excellent customer service, hospitality, and wine education to our winery guests and/or virtual relationships.

Tasting Room:

Provide world class customer service to all winery guests and winery clients.
Engage with all guests in a professional and memorable manner which generates enthusiasm for Eleven Eleven wines and brand.
Set-up and host wine tastings and tours for guests
Lead guests through tasting flights, while educating them on all aspects of the brand including wines, winemaking techniques, vineyards, and story
Knowledgeable about wines, winemaking techniques, wine history, appellations, and unique aspects of wines
Actively promote the sale of Eleven Eleven wines, wine club and merchandise to increase revenue.
Handle routine sales transactions, including but not limited to, operating POS, accounting of daily sales, pours and samples.
Provide exceptional customer service and facilitate sales in response to customer email and phone inquiries.
Assist, as directed, with maintaining the Tasting Room with a consistent inventory of available wines, marketing materials, sales brochures and tasting notes and assist with retail restocking, inventory, and floor upkeep.
Conduct winery tours and hosts private and VIP experiences in a professional, engaging, and informative manner.
Provide follow-up, follow back and follow through approach with calls/emails to customers.
Follow Eleven Eleven tasting room procedures, including but not limited to: opening wine, washing, and stocking glasses, bussing tables, and stocking wine.
Clean up after appointments and resets the room continuously.
Take an active role in the general cleanliness of the Tasting Room.
Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Follow company general policies and procedures.

Wine Club:

Actively promote the benefits of Club 11:11
Petition for new wine club members
Assist or drive wine club processing and related matters.

Events & Other:

Assist at winery events, private dinners, and various site activities.
Provide planning and execution support as requested by the events manager.
Support Shipping Department

Skills and Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age or older
Energetic Hustle Sales Mentality – Relationship builder.
Professional and poised demeanor.  Independent and motivated.
An enthusiastic personality with a genuine desire to interact with customers and employees to offer outstanding customer service.
Excellent customer service aptitude which includes friendly service, attention to detail, ability to work clean and efficiently, a quick, energetic demeanor, and willingness to work as a true “team.”
Strong presentation skills with the ability to relay their knowledge of wines and wine production. Dynamic verbal and non-verbal communication skills
Must have a clean professional appearance and excel in intercommunications and interactions.
Ability to start a project and carry through to successful implementation.
Excellent computer skills and understanding of retail systems, emails and spreadsheets. Knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Outlook a must. Experience with Google Docs, TOCK, Wine Direct POS system a plus.
Excellent attention to detail.
Must be able to stay calm under extreme pressure.
Flexibility of schedule is mandatory – when needed, must be able to work into late afternoons or evenings, weekends, and also adapt to changing daily needs.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be organized, creative and able to prioritize.
Broad-based knowledge of wine and food.
A general understanding and knowledge of current Federal and State legal compliance.
General knowledge of Napa Valley, wineries, and restaurants.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and climb stairs.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.

The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times.  Frequent operation of computer and other office equipment, the ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as need, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.  The employee works in an office environment.  Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.  Occasional travel may be required.

Education:

Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s degree a plus.
Two – five years of wine industry/and or tasting room experience highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

The Tasting Room is open seven (7) days a week from 9 am – 6 pm. The anticipated schedule for this position will be Thursday – Sunday. (to be discussed)
Must be flexible and comfortable with a fluctuating workweek hours and schedule. Weekend availability (Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday) is a requirement, as well as some holidays and evenings.
Overtime as needed for special events.
